I never thought I'd say this, but hurrah for Alanis Morisette!

Thanks to VJzoo for this pic!
Ok, so at the fabulous Last Tuesday Society on Tuesday night (the 30th of June), Bron and Rich's intrepid crew of performers paid tribue to Alanis Morisette's 'Jagged Little Pill' album.  As a non-Alanis convert, I have to say I was a little sceptical, but come the end of the epic show while I sang the chorus to "You oughta know" with a sell-out audience, I have to say i felt the love.  I had an awesome time performing, I had an awesome time watching, and afterwards, I had an awesome time on the dancefloor.  All up, it was a thumbs up!  Congratulations go to Bron and Rich, Matt Kelly, the lovely Caravan of Love, Pete Reid and his Morisette stalker, Sveta Dobranoch, the Suitcase Royale, Zoey Louise Moonbeam Dawson, and the sweet vegemite-covered lady from Adelaide.  That will be the last Last Tuesday until Fringe, so I hope you were there, and if not, start putting aside your Tuesdays during the first two weeks of October.

And now, scary of all scary, it's now time to concentrate on my solo for the upcoming Melbourne Fringe.  If you're very organised and marking your diary for that end of the year already, my season runs from Friday 25 September to Friday 2nd October (no show Monday) at 7.45pm (except for Sunday when it's at 6.45pm).  I have some incredibly beautiful slides up my sleeve, and am working on some wonderful words to go with them.

If you want to be kept up to date, and are a Facebook person, I would be stoked if you would join the
Poet Laureate facebook group .  That will get you details, photos, and a humungous dollop of poetic karma.

Hopefully see you round the traps,

xt
