Last Tuesday wants to deck your halls...

Shazam - The Last Tuesday Society's final throwdown for 2009 is coming up on you and boy does it want to get festive on your good self!  Yep my beautiful little lyrical baubles, it's time to hang up your stockings ready for them to be stuffed full to bursting with that shambolic, experimental, off-the-cuff-in-a-sexy-way performance that Last Tuesday prides itself on.

If you've never been then the Christmas special is a perfect time to join our joyfully disfunctional family, and if you're a regular, well, you know Christmas is a time to be with the ones you love and we love you very very much.  As for the Poet Laureate, well, it's time for me to reflect on the cyclonic year that is drawing to a close and the joys of the special holidays that are fast approaching, and while I'm very tempted to re-share my Christmas ode from last year - 'Ho' - I'm thinking of working up a brand new masterpiece opus as a special present for my favourite audience.  Hmmm... maybe I'll do both if they'll let me...

Anyhoo, details are below.  If you're busy, disinclined, or Christmas-phobic (if the latter, then you definately should shake your reindeer tail and head on down) and can't make Last Tuesday, I wish for you a Christmas full of food and people you love, and a New Years that makes you happy that your heart is beating.  I hope that looking back on this year, you see a veritable range of metaphorical mountains that you've conquered and that any bruises or scrapes you may have retained from your travels and travails are either long long-gone or badges of honour that remind you of your own strength and awesome-ness.

Great things ahead!  Very, very exciting!
xx

A TOUCH OF THE POET:

Tuesday 24th November - The Last Tuesday Society's 2nd Annual Christmas Shambles: 8pm at The Order of Melbourne (401 Swanston St).  On the bill with your very own Poet Laureate are Last Tuesday regulars The List Operators, Bron Batten, Miles O'Neil (from The Suitcase Royale) and Anna Pocket Rocket.  Also contributing to the bang of this mighty Christmas cracker are the amazing Vigelantelope, the beautiful Lou Sanz, Stuart Bowden, One Trick Pony and the Caravan of Doom.  There's even going to be a nativity play!  Phew!  I'm all hot under the collar thinking about it...

In the meantime, if you want to be kept up to date, and are a Facebook person, I would be stoked if you would join the
Poet Laureate facebook group .  That will get you updates, photos, and a humungous dollop of poetic karma.  I'm also on Youtube now with a small portion of poetic praline from the mixed lolly bag of life, and you can see that by clicking here.

In all your wanderings through this amazing wide wide world, I will only exhort you to remember this:
Poetry is a volcano of feeling, its caresses are so hot they're molten
Let it gently spoon you while you listen to Michael Bolton
