Created by Telia Nevile and Matt Kelly
Performed by a vast array of Melbourne's finest theatrical talent, including core ensemble members Bron Batten and Richard Higgins
Penny Machinations are private-viewing performance venues that house an ever-changing array of bite-sized original theatre. Originally inspired by 19th Century penny arcades, Penny Machinations provides short pieces of performance-on-demand to the curious and courageous, with a constantly growing repertoire of pieces on offer than runs the gamut from naturalistic theatre to comedy, caricature and contemporary dance.
Other hightlights of the [Fringe] festival club include the delightful Penny Machinations, a series of brief, deft theatrical delights. It's an excellent way to pass the time while waiting for your next show to start, and great entertainment in its own right. ...all of these micro-dramas come highly recommended. Be warned, one show is not enough and you might find yourself scouring your pockets for enough change to get another hit. Penny Machinations is a unique and clever concept that takes the sideshow alley to a much more interesting level. aussietheatre.com, Oct 2006
