Telia Nevile - Creator/Performer
Telia Nevile completed a Graduate Diploma in Animateuring (the creation of new theatre) at VCA in 1999, and since then has created a collection of full-length work that includes Somewhere Along the Way (The Street Theatre, Canberra 2004; La Mama, 2003) and Linger…just one more (La Mama, 2002); and short works including Zoetrope (2007 La Mama Explorations) and If At First (2006 Dancehouse Joker Season). In 2004, Telia formed Penny Machinations with Matt Kelly, premiering their pay-per-view performance arcade as part of the 2004 La Mama Explorations Season. Since its beginning, Penny Machinations has gone on to entertain a wide variety of audiences at festivals such as the Falls Festival (2007 & 2006), the Melbourne Fringe (2006 & 2005, where it won ‘Most Outstanding Special Event’), The Village (2007 & 2006) and Midsumma (2007). Telia is also a performer whose most recent credits include the performance installation Where is My Community? (New08, ACCA), and Lulu Vs Jack the Ripper (2007 Melbourne Fringe); and who appears as a contributing artist for companies such as The Caravan of Love and The Last Tuesday Society.
Emily Amisano - Collaborator/Performer
Emily Amisano graduated from the Queensland University of Technology in 1996 with an Associate Degree in Dance. Since then she has performed with Expressions Dance Company (Brisbane), Carte Blanche (Bergen, Norway), and Dansgroep Krisztina de Chatel (Amsterdam); and appeared at arts festivals around the world, including in New York, Mexico City, Oslo and Guangzhou. During her time with Expressions Dance Company, she choreographed two works as part of their Atelier/workshop seasons - the critically acclaimed solo Incursion (2004), and duo The Last Best Girl (2006). In December 2006, Emily moved to Melbourne and in 2007 she performed in Full Tilt Season 1 (choreographer Anton and composer Kate Neal); Orpheus and Eurydice (Victorian Opera, choreographer Stephen Page); Musicircus (Melbourne Festival); and the Brisbane season of Being There (choreographer Clare Dyson). This year Emily has begun development of new work Bending the Map with the assistance of a Dancehouse Summer Grant; collaborated with dancer Emma Strapps and video artist Tim Webster on If I Am Everywhere, supported by the City of Yarra and Dancehouse; and performed in Malia Johnson's Broken By Design, as part of the season "You're Not Alone, You're Just in New Zealand".
